Our Beliefs

Scripture
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God and preserved without error unto this day and forever. Because of God’s work of preservation and inspiration, they are the only authority for faith and practice; they are completely trustworthy, and they are found to be applicable today. Since translation of the Bible from the original languages into English is necessary and vital, we believe that the Textus Receptus is the most accurate manuscript; and therefore, we hold to English translations derived from that family of manuscripts.

God
We believe the one God eternally existent in three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  The Lord is the sustainer of all of creation and sovereign.

Jesus Christ
We believe the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death for sin, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation to God’s right hand, and His personal, imminent, and pre-tribulation return for the saved.

Salvation
We believe the salvation of mankind is extended to all through grace by faith. Every individual sins by nature and is, therefore, guilty and unable to enter heaven upon death. Death, Hell, and the Lake of Fire are the resulting destinations of man. Jesus Christ claimed man’s sins as His and died for them on Calvary. Jesus Christ was buried.  Jesus Christ rose again three days later released from death for the debt was paid. Salvation is the decision of turning away from one’s sin and calling upon the Savior in faith. It is individual, freely available, without good works, and eternal.

Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer at salvation to enlighten, guide, and enable him. The Holy Spirit’s first work is to draw man to Christ. The Holy Spirit guides the saved to truth and throughout life. The Holy Spirit enables the saved to live in victory and to produce the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control.

Spiritual Gifts
We believe the spiritual gifts are given by God through the Spirit to the saved for the growth and edification of the body of Christ. Certain sign gifts of the Spirit such as speaking in tongues and healings were used to confirm the New Testament and have been temporarily set aside.

Future
We believe the future of mankind has been revealed and established. Both the saved and the unsaved will be bodily resurrected.  The saved are raised to dwell with God in a new heaven and a new earth. The unsaved are raised to eternal, conscious agony in the Lake of Fire. The Lord has revealed His plan for the judgment and destruction of sin and Satan.

Church
We believe the church is local and independent. Baptism and communion are the two ordinances of the church.  Pastors and deacons are the two offices of the church.

Christian Conduct
We believe the saved are called to separate from the world and that victory is possible through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are called to avoid entanglement in practices or alliances that are sinful and are also called to separate from religions and doctrines that are unbiblical. Separation is not the only characteristic of the saved. We are also called to walk in love and compassion. We believe the saved are called to be salt and light to the world.
